Negative /Positive Space Exercise

The First Graders did a fantastic job exploring the difference between negative and positive space by drawing, cutting and then gluing colored shapes to black paper.  They were very careful to glue the neg. and the matching pos. piece next to each other on the paper. 

Mrs. Flake was highly impressed with their creative shapes!  The initial task was to make simple shapes; however, many students took on the challenge to make more complicated/sophisticated shapes!!  Just look at the intricate zig-zag lines and tiny parts...WOW! I am so proud of them.
