FIRST GRADE

Our first project was Primary Ink Blots/ Chunky Stamp Printing.
We experimented with the three primary color paints on a folded piece of white paper stock to see what color mixtures we could make.  Then, we used chunky stamps to print some really cool images that proved some really interesting color combinations!
Our second project, Our Father's House, was a weaving unit combined with the wonderful Bible verse from John.  "In my Father's house there are many rooms." John 14:2  We used yellow strips of paper to make each room in our "Father's house" to make it look lived in.
Finally, we celebrated our Fall Season with a "Symmetrical Candy Monster".  Mrs. Flake talked about how to make our candy monster's face the same on one half as the other; liner symmetrical, with cut paper.  Then we brought in a zip-bag of candy wrappers to attach to our monster's mouth...we even got to decorate with SPARKLE PAINT!!!!  Weeehaa!
